Demi Lovato may have been marketed as yet another adorably perky Disney star, but the Dallas, Texas native is an accomplished singer-songwriter who has drawn from a host of diverse influences, from pop rock colleagues like Britney to more obscure metal bands like Dimmu Borgir.


Yes, metal: In 2008, Lovato told MTV she was going through something of a metal phase, gushing of the genre, "It's so completely different from anything else. You've got vocals that I can't do, the double bass drums, the incredible guitar solos … every part of the band does more difficult stuff than your average rock band does. I listen to these bands, and I wish I could do all of that, but I can't."


But don't expect to hear Demi thrash on her upcoming album. She's shifted into a hipster hip-hop phase, tweeting enthusiastically about the likes of Kreayshawn and Odd Future. Perhaps she was turned on to their tunes by megaproducer Timbaland, with whom she's collaborating on a new track. Maybe she'll even rap...she has admitted to busting out the Eminem for karaoke (she counted his anthem "Not Afraid" among the tunes that help her to stay strong in her fight against self-image issues).


Lovato also has an unabashed love of chart-topping pop, mixing Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna and classic Britney in with indie gems like Azure Ray and contemporary Christian artists like Bethany Dillon.

Kourtney Kardashian Still Has No Plans to Marry

Khloe Kardashian got hitched in what felt like the blink of an eye, while sister Kim is counting the days to her sure-to-be extravagant wedding with Kris Humphries. But none of that means eldest sis, Kourtney, has any plans to marry Scott Disick.

Despite the fact that the 31-year-old socialite has spent the last year and a half raising a baby with Disick, she strongly maintains that marriage plans are not on the table. "That's not up for discussion, nor do I care what anyone's thoughts are," said a testy Kourtney in the most recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

So when she says "anyone's thoughts," does that include her mother, Kris Jenner's? Apparently, yes, as Kourtney made sure to clarify: "I don't have to listen to my mom, or anyone else.........

Weston Cage and Nikki Williams Patch Things Up

Earlier this week, Nicolas Cage's son Weston took to Facebook to announce his intention to divorce wife Nikki Williams after just a few months of matrimony.

The statement came after both he and Williams were arrested for felony domestic violence charges on Monday. Cage also denied having harmed his wife, writing, "Why would I start abusing after she was positive after taking a pregnancy test?

Despite a fair amount of acrimony all of it played out in public, naturally it seems that Cage and Williams have patched up whatever led to her charging at him with a broken beer bottle (or so he claimed...also on Facebook). On Thursday, Cage wrote, "OUR LOVE CAN'T BE BROKEN, THIS WAS THE WAR TO END ALL WARS AND PEACE IS NOT ETERNAL. I APOLOGIZE FOR BEING DEFENSIVE I DID IT OUT OF FEARING LIES BECOMING real. forever is forever.
Cage also attempted to rectify some of his previous online wrongs by writing, "To all the slutty women I responded to online. You are nothing to me and i used those conversations to spite my wife and she knows who you are. I AM AN A**HOLE. I especially apologize to my beloved SOULMATE WIFE Nikki Williams Cage. I know wholeheartedly that my core is property of Nikki's and that no other man or woman could ever unlock thy everlasting bonds that the gods have fastened to my wife and I.
Cage also made the mistake of posting his phone number on his profile it's still up, which resulted in the following update: "that's it im a moron i should never have posted my number on the internet. all the random girls chill the f**k out.I will find you and have you dealt with for vexation. Paris Hilton Has Found Her Happy, Healthy Place

Paris Hilton has gained worldwide recognition for her lavish heiress spending ways, high-profile relationships with multi-millionaires, ability to turn socialite status into massive fame...and that ridiculously svelte body. After seeing the starlet shovel down fast food on The Simple Life and seemingly experience little weight fluctuation, we've assumed Paris is one of those magically forever-thin women. Recently though, she's opened up about being too thin in the past, momentarily becoming a little gym-obsessed, and finally – finding a happy medium with her body.

Diet: Paris is no stranger to majorly indulgent foods like Taco Bell and McDonald's, and it's always fun (though kind of strange) to see the bigger-than-life starlet going through a fast food drive-thru. Don't be too fooled. The long and lean lady is able to down those greasy treats because she keeps her portions in strict control, and she's also become quite the lover of clean foods.

Paris has said she doesn't "fully indulge" but takes small tastes. "I have no diet secret, just sensible eating," she's said. It's hard to say if her organic streak is still going strong since her breakup with health guru Cy Waits, but earlier this year Paris said: "Now I only eat organic foods. [Cy] makes me watch documentaries on food, like Fast Food Nation, and he makes me aware of what things are good for your body because he's very into that." Paris has also been known to ditch her favorite ice cream and burger fixes for the Green Leaves diet (lettuce, cabbage, spinach, etc.) to flatten her stomach back to it's chiseled ab form.

When the nightlife princess graces the red carpet at ultra-exclusive clubs around the world, it's actually often Red Bull she's drinking. Booze can load on the calories – according to Webmd.com the average alcoholic drink has about 96 calories – and we're sure Paris opts for the light version of Red Bull. When she does hit the liquor, she loves to mix a dash of cranberry juice, peach schnapps, and jagermeister.

Exercise: Paris Hilton's never been an athletic one, per se, but she does get her exercise in with personal trainer Teddy Bass. He guides her through aerobic exercises twice a week and in her own time Paris loves to surf, bike, and do Pilates.

Trafalgar Square, London

Emma Watson looked stunning as always, Daniel Radcliffe smiled awkardly, Rupert Grint screamed for a makeover, and thousands of adoring fans swarmed London for the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 -- held at Trafalgar Square, our Hot Spot of the Day.

Fans from all across the world came out in huge numbers to see their favorite fictional wizards (and muggles) take over the British capital. The good news: the whole cast was on hand, from Tom Felton Draco Malfoy to Alan Rickman (Snape). The bad: the mass of Pottaholics was greeted by a downpour of rain and heavy winds that left many fleeing their fake spectacles and robes for a raincoat and umbrella.

Trafalgar Square is one of London's many tourist attractions that has been around longer than most American cities. Known for its massive pigeon population, the square is also home to London's annual New Year's Eve celebration and a really large fountain that is extremely expensive to maintain. While the area has been home to heated political protests over the years, there was nothing but joy in the air as the Harry Potter cast called Trafalgar Square home for the day.

They may play up a rivalry when the cameras are rolling, the The Voice judges Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera can really make sweet music together when they want to.
This week Maroon 5's collaboration with Christina, "Moves Like Jagger," hit the upper ranks of the Billboard Hot 100, making its chart debut at No. 8—just above Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song."

Universal Studios Theme Park, Los Angeles

When most people think Jurassic Park, their thoughts turn to gigantic and often angry dinosaurs, Steven Spielberg and really good theme music. But when Khloe Kardashian, hubby Lamar Odom and crew came to Universal Studios -- our Hot Spot of the Day -- for some summer fun in the sun, the only thing they associated Jurassic Park with was one gigantic splash.

Well, if you're Khloe, Lamar, Rob and the gang, you head on over to Universal Studios -- a theme park so desperate for business that they'll give you a full year pass if you buy a one day ticket! Can you think of a better way to fight off the post July 4th blues? Yeah, didn't think so.

Universal Studios is both a movie studio and a theme park that advertises itself as "The Coolest Place in LA." This monicker of sorts is incredibly ironic for two reasons: One, the park isn't technically in Los Angeles -- it's located in the unincorporated Universal City community -- and two, that region of LA county is uncomfortably hot during the summer months. Adding insult to its ironic injury, the place has also lit on fire eight times since opening. But hey, this is the same place that still thinks Waterworld is cool, so yeah...

With fireworks set to go off and adoring fans clamoring for a taste of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the excitement was palpable as the royal couple arrived at Ottawa's Rideau Hall -- our Hot Spot of the Day..........
The British duo got their North American tour started in the nation's capital, greeting fans and forcing smiles. Later, they attended a rocking 120-person BBQ that likely involved immense amounts of Canadian beer, former hockey stars the Prince had never heard of, and something smoked in maple. Ironically, the royal couple arrived just in time for Canada Day -- a national holiday that celebrates Canada's independence from Britain. But who's got time for irony, when there's royalty in town....
Since 1867, Rideau Hall has been home to the Canadian monarch and Governor General of Canada -- or in layman's terms, the Queen of England and some lawyer from Harvard who wears a lot of well-pressed suits. The place has 170 rooms, but in the scheme of royal residences, is considered relatively homey. It's open to the public year round, meaning if you are ever in Ottawa and get the burning desire to check out some of Canada's finest cabinets and pine paneling, well, you now know where to head.......

Like most other fields, professions, hobbies and, well, really, anything else, to truly succeed, on a lasting level, as a woman in show business has required a double standard-satisfying portfolio of talent, dedication and brains. As Hollywood rose from its short, silent roots to a full blown, culture setting industry, it was of course men who made  and took for their own the most prominent, glory filled parts in  film.

WTF! Tina Turner Allegedly Shot Randy Jackson After He Caught Her Cheating With His GF

This story almost seems to crazy to be true, but Randy Jackson, Michael Jackson's younger brother did an informal twitter interview with fans, and shockingly revealed that Tina Turner once shot him.
Michael Jackson’s youngest brother told followers, “Yes, Tina Turner shot me. I have the scar to prove it........
Jackson says the incident occurred in the eighties, when “I went to Tina’s house to see my girlfriend. I guess I caught them off guard.”
“I don’t hold a grudge against Tina, she’s a great artist an asset to our industry,” Jackson quickly added.
Turner’s former assistant Eddy Hampton Armani wrote about the alleged incident in his 1998 book The Real T: My 22 Years with Tina Turner, however, the episode has never been confirmed by Turner or anyone else.........
